Oorjayii come from two sanskrit words ऊर्जा (Oorja) means शक्ति (Shakti) meaning "Strength,Energy, Life"​ and उज्जायी(Ujjayi) literally means “Victorious Uprising”.

Oorjayii Yoga was founded in 2016 in Dharamshala, India by two Yoga Teachers Sonaal and Khushboo with an ideology to create a spiritual space to provide a healing, safe and loving environment for people and make them connect more with their own selves. Officially its main location is in Dharamshala but otherwise, we can say that Mother Earth is the location of Oorjayii Yoga. For 6 months of a year, they conduct their courses in their central location, and for the rest 6 months they travel with their team to conduct their courses at a new place in nature, below the stars. Our body is made of 5 elements Sky, Air, Fire, Water, and Earth and when we live in the presence of all these elements together our body and mind get balanced naturally. And that is how they find their new location. For the season 2023-24 the sunny Goa will be their home.

They come with varieties of Workshops and Teacher training affiliated with Yoga Alliance U.S.A
